Deep Silver Turns Deadlight On For Playstation 4

By Fierce,
Since the very beginning of the new-gen era of consoles, there has been no shortage of zombie related titles and content available to satisfy even the largest post-apocalyptic appetite. The zombie trend rages ever on with even old titles now getting a dust off and a redo for the latest hardware available. Deep Silver has been partly responsible for already bringing some of those older titles back to life and they're not quite done yet.

Deadlight: Director's Cut has just been announced by Deep Silver to release this summer. Originally released by Microsoft in 2012 on Xbox LIVE Arcade and now coming to Playstation for the first time, Deadlight was a side-scrolling platformer that told the story of Randall Wayne, a slightly paranoid survivor put at the center of a zombie apocalypse in 1986 Seattle. Equipped with only an axe and a revolver, Randall's only hope is to survive long enough so that he can rejoin his missing family. The Director's Cut is said to be redone with superior controls, new animations and full 1080p resolution. In addition, a new feature called the ‘Survival Arena’ has been added, which promises to include the "toughest zombie challenges yet." There is no word, though, as to what exactly that new feature will entail.

If you are unfamiliar with the original or would like to sneak a peek at the game's latest enhancements, take a look at the announcement trailer and accompanying images.

Out of the dark, Deadlight: Director's Cut comes to Playstation 4 on June 21st.
